A straight answer

If we can’t find it, it most likely no longer exists and we’ll tell you

What does a thermostatic cartridge do?

It’s the part inside your shower valve that holds the water at the temperature you set. A wax-filled element senses the mixed water and slides a shuttle to balance hot and cold in a fraction of a second — protecting you from a scalding burst when someone flushes a toilet.

Hard water and age wear it down. Because every cartridge is made for a specific valve, a replacement has to be the exact part.

Can’t find your cartridge? We probably can.

For the best match, include:

  • Both ends of the cartridge, in good light
  • Any numbers or markings stamped on it
  • Your shower trim and handle
  • A coin or ruler beside it for scale

Send us a photo and we’ll get back to you with what we found.
